BUDONG aka SUPER INGGO
The cutest and youngest Filipino superhero-in-training
Despite being poor, Budong is a happy, hyperactive and well-meaning child who dreams of becoming a superhero. He is gifted with the ability to connect with people from all walks of life. In his own little way, he takes care of everyone in their small town of Sto. Niño.
Budong lives with Pacita, the woman he came to know as his mother. He loves Pacita despite the fact that she is not his birth mother. For Pacita, Budong would give and risk everything.
Budong likes to play, attends school but unlike normal children his age, Budong attends Power Academy, a school for superheroes-in-training like him. Together with Mighty Ken and Amazing Teg, Super Inggo is a member of the Super Tropa.
Super Inggo inherited his good nature and powers of flight and super strength from his superhero father Super Islaw. He also inherited his temper and powers of electricity from his super villain mother Bugan. But despite being a product of half-evil, he constantly tries to be good.
JOMAR
The super bestfriend brother and sidekick of Budong
Jomar is Budong’s wacky and loyal super bestfriend brother and sidekick of Budong. He knows everything about Budong, even Budong’s alter-ego Super Inggo. He gives advice to Budong whenever he needs it and cheers him up whenever he is down. Jomar always brings out the best in Budong.
Jomar and Budong are inseparable. They grew up together and share the same dream of becoming a superhero.
Jomar and Budong are half-brothers, sharing the same mother, Bugan. But if Budong is a product of good and evil, Jomar is a product of all evil, for his father is none other than the Prince of Darkness himself. Despite this unfortunate fact, Jomar always tries to become good and with Budong’s help, tries to repress the evil inside him to become a superhero like Budong.
MAYA
The ultimate crush of Budong
After his mother Pacita, Maya is the love of Budong’s life. Budong affectionately calls Maya “Babes.” Charming, Cheerful, colorful and lovable, Maya gives inspiration to our young superhero-in-training.
Maya is the daughter of Kanor, the kind neighborhood baker who takes care of Budong and Jomar’s education. In exchange for Kanor sending them to school, Budong and Jomar acts as Maya’s bodyguard because Maya almost always gets into some sort of trouble.
Maya likes acting older than she actually is. She loves make-up, trinkets and all sorts of accessories to make herself more beautiful, especially for her ultimate crush, Super Inggo. What Maya doesn’t know is that Budong, her bodyguard and Super Inggo are the same person.
KEN aka MIGHTY KEN
The formidable super ally
Like Budong, Ken attends Power Academy, the school for superheroes-in-training. His alter-ego, Mighty Ken is a member of the Super Tropa along with Super Inggo and Amazing Teg.
Ken is a very capable fellow who aspires to be the best in everything he does. A born leader, he is responsible and dependable. He is passionate with causes concerning the environment.
Ken comes from a half-human, half-feline heritage. Because of this, he possesses cat-like abilities. His parents were killed by a tikbalang (a creature of half-human, half-equine heritage) when he was still very young. Because of this, Ken swore to take revenge against the tikbalangs.
TEG aka AMAZING TEG
The electrifying super ally
Like Budong and Ken, Teg attends Power Academy, the school for superheroes-in-training. His alter-ego, Amazing Teg is a member of the Super Tropa along with Super Inggo and Mighty Ken.
Teg is a quiet and secretive fellow. Despite putting on a brave front, Teg is scared of the things he is capable of, especially of his amazing ability to send jolts of electricity from his bare hands.
Teg attends the Power Academy to master his abilities and learn how to put it to good use.
JACK aka THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS
The super villain trapped in a child’s body
Devious, greedy and power-hungry, Jack, also known as the Prince of Darkness, is Super Inggo’s arch-nemesis. Super Inggo once defeated him and entombed him inside a volcano—but not for good. Out of the smoldering lava, the Prince of Darkness rises again. He is reincarnated, however, trapped in a child’s body!
Jack’s witch mother bestowed him her dark power before she died to guard him. Over time, this dark power, in the physical form of a cloak, consumed Jack. Hence, he was known as the Prince of Darkness. He is capable of shape-shifting and producing fireballs.
A perfect rabble-rouser, Jack recruits capable allies to rally with him in his quest to exact revenge on Super Inggo.
PACITA
The love of Budong’s life
Despite the fact that she is not his birth mother, Budong considers Pacita as the best mom in the whole world. Pacita serves as Budong’s inspiration in becoming a superhero. It is Budong’s wish to protect her from harm that made him want to become a superhero in the first place.
In the past, Pacita blamed the superheroes for the biggest tragedy that befall her—losing her husband who was caught in a battle between the forces of good and evil. She became miserable and bitter to the point that she would inflict her misery to Budong who was left in her care. But eventually, Budong’s unconditional love conquered her and taught her to forgive and forget
Now, Pacita is a caring and supportive mother to Budong. She treats Budong as if he is her real son. She also accepts Budong’s destiny of becoming a superhero—but not without hesitations. Like any good mother, she constantly worries about her son’s safety. Even if she is powerless, she is willing to risk her life to keep Budong away from harm.
